When I married the love of my life in 2014, I asked my mom for a Kitchen Aid mixer as a wedding gift. I’m not sure why I wanted one...I knew close to zero about baking. I think I just wanted one because they came in so many pretty colors! The day that shiny new aqua blue baby arrived, I started baking...and I haven’t stopped! If baking can be a calling, then I finally found mine. When I am in the kitchen covered in flour and powdered sugar, I am in my happy place.

Once friends and family tried my treats, they started encouraging me to open a bakery, but I just love being in my home kitchen! With a little bit of research, I discovered I could enjoy the best of both worlds. And with that, the idea of Hello, Sugar! was born. It has taken me 3 years, a whole bunch of planning & determination and countless recipe trials to finally realize my dream of running my own business.

How did I come up with the sweet name? Well, I almost never call my nieces and nephews by their first names. It's always "Hello, pumpkin, pork chop, dumpling, angel, sugar..."  Wait. "Hello, SUGAR!"??? That's it! The perfect name for my perfectly sweet venture.
